School on the Boat, a French N.G.O, was created back in 2011, and is based in Hanoï, Vietnam. The main objective of the organization is to give disadvantaged children living along the Red River and in the Long Bien an access to education. To facilitate this, School on the Boat set up a sponsorship system to finance the children’s school fees in 7 different public schools. Since School on the Boat was created, 39 children have been able to enter public school.
Health: The organization provides support in other key areas such as health. School on the Boat participates in psychological follow ups, the payment of health expenses for the children (surgeries, medical material, medical consultations…) and holds a monthly rice distribution (10kg per child).
Monthly activity: School on the Boat organizes monthly activities to enable the children to develop through cultural, sport and art activities. School on the Boat also organizes an annual project which allows the kids to travel beyond Hanoi.
Tutoring program: The tutoring program supports the children in their schooling. After school, the children come to School on the Boat for tutoring classes to do their homework, and overcome the difficulties they face at school. Volunteers come to teach the children.
